I attended the University of Minnesota majoring in accounting. While there I married my wife, Lynn Newton, who was from South Minneapolis. By the time I left the U in 1966 we had 2 1/2 kids. We ended up with 8 kids, 6 boys and 2 girls. I was with an international CPA firm until 1977 and since then I have had my own tax consulting business specializing in large family owned companies. As fate would have it, I did the tax work on a subsidized housing project that was sold to investors by a Minneapolis brokerage firm. The housing project was built on my old neighborhood of River Lane, Charles Street and First Street. We live about 20 miles west of Minneapolis on a 35 acre piece of land and my office is in my barn. Fortunately most of our children live near us and we spend a lot of time with our 15 grandchildren (with another two on the way.) Even the two children who are foreign missionaries come home for extended periods and stay with us with their six children. We have done some traveling to see our missionary kids in Germany and the Far East and we have been to Alaska a number of times (I have flown a light plane to Alaska three times). We are looking forward to spending extended periods of time there in the future if I ever accumulate enough money to retire. Both my parents are still alive and living in Albert Lea so I still come down there often. I was saddened to see on this website that 32 of our classmates are no longer on this earth. I realized that some would be gone but I was surprised that the number was that large. I have decided to come to the 45th class reunion which will be the first reunion I have attended.
