Phyllis (Bakken) Jackson

After I graduated from high school I took a job in Rochester in an insurance office. Got married in August 1961 to Jerry Voshell and we were married for 14 years. He was in the Air Force when we got married down in Kansas City, MO. Then moved back to Rochester and then eventually back to Albert Lea. Had two great sons from that marriage.

Then I met Roger. I have been married to Roger (Buck) Jackson since 1977. Between the two of us we have 5 sons: his three sons live in Mpls; and my two sons live in CO, one in Denver and one in Colorado Springs. We have 4 grandchildren; one grandson and three granddaughters. My oldest granddaughter, Nicole, will be getting married in October - it doesn't seem possible to have a granddaughter who is 22 years old!! Marilyn and Ron Remakel (classmates) share this granddaughter with me.

While we lived in Albert Lea, I worked at Four Seasons Travel for 15 years. My husband and I were partners with another couple and owned Pour Boys, which was a bar and restaurant. We sold out after 10 years.

Thought before I hit 49 back in '92 I better find a job that paid something as retirement was getting closer and closer. Haven't regretted moving to Twin Cities at all. When I first moved to Mpls I worked for American Express. For the past 7-1/2 years I have been working for Cargill in their corporate travel department located in Minnetonka.

We sold our house in Albert Lea in 1996 and bought a townhome in Eden Prairie.

My husband is retired, but keeps very busy. In the summer months he works at Brookview Golf Course in Golden Valley. In the winter months people hire him and his son to do remodeling in their homes.

I would love hearing from former classmates!
