I married Barb Hegland from the class of 1961. We have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. Our kids and families are in Portland, Oregon, Couer d'Alene, Idaho and Mason City, Iowa. Barb and I were long time teachers and retired. Barb was a pre-school teacher and I was a high school math teacher and coach in basketball and golf. I was lucky to have gone to the state tournament with 10 teams, with one state championship. I was also inducted into the Iowa Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame.
