My
last 50 years in a nutshell: Graduated
from the University of Northern Iowa (Cedar Falls) in 1965 with a degree in
biology. Married
Sara Shoemaker (also ALHS, 1961) We moved to and worked at Michigan State University for about 6 years (part of the time I was a bio-medical photographer), and part way through those years Sara & I went into the Peace Corps in Ghana, Africa for 2 yrs, then back to MSU. While at MSU our family grew to four, when we had two boys. Got a Masters in Education from MSU and went to work at Cleveland State University as assistant director of its Instructional Media Department, for two years. Moved to Bend, Oregon, and Central Oregon Community College in 1974 and became director of their media department. I was in Bend for almost 15 years, then unfortunately Sara and I parted. I moved to the Portland, OR, area in 1988, and remarried -- Glennellen (Meg) Pace Paulson. We
were both in education (and in a few other things, too, for me) and retired
last year. Since then we have traveled a bit. For years one of our
favorite passions has been mountain hiking and traveling / camping with our
travel trailer in the Northwest U.S., and western Canada. Also,
since my work at MSU I have been heavily involved in nature photography, and now
that I am retired I am devoting almost all my time to that pursuit (no pun
intended, but it fits). I
have lost touch with most people that I knew at ALHS, but would enjoy hearing
from anyone (guy or gal) interested in bringing me up to date. Best
of luck to you and the others on the ALHS 50th anniversary team. Bob
