Walt and Barb Now
Following ALHS I attended & graduated from Lawrence College where I met my husband, now of forty years. We began our life together in the mid-west but intentionally moved our family to Colorado 31 years ago. Skiing lured us but hiking, rafting, cycling, and cross-country skiing are mountain sports we enjoy. Our condo in Vail has been a special location for recreation and relaxation!
Our 2 children - a daughter & son - have blessed us with 4 wonderful grandchildren, currently 6 months to 7 years old. I was fortunate to be a stay-at-home mom and participate in our kids' activities! (Now I like to say I am a KEPT WOMAN!) Since both families live in distant states I do have time to travel to visit them - or get worn out when they arrive for days at a time. We've a recent tradition of renting a beach house on the SE Atlantic coast for a week each summer where we can all get together!
Walt & I have always been active in our community, school, church, and in charitable organizations. And, having lived in Lakewood so long, we enjoy many long friendships.
We've traveled lots. As SCUBA divers we've enjoyed many Caribbean islands, sea-kayaked in foreign seas, and frequently canoed Minnesota's Boundary Waters. I've hiked coast-to-coast across England and bicycled across most of the USA. My passion is for the beauty of the outdoors and pursuing activities in its enjoyment.
Other interests include gardening, quilting, photography, reading, women's groups, and nurturing friendships - old ones like ALHS and newer ones as well.
I surely can't complain. I have a wonderful husband, family, friends, and a great life!
